Happy New Year, everybody!  It’s only day 1, but I hope 2015 is treating you well.

  1. Since Albert and I are in the same industy, we both got invited to a big black tie industry gala at the Pierre.  It was fun to get all dressed up and party in one of New York’s nicest hotels.  And the best part is that the industry paid for such a fancy date night!
  2. Two Saturdays ago Albert and I planned to go to CT for an annual holiday party, but circumstances got in the way and we ended up staying in NYC.  Some people may have seen that as a chance to tear up the town and come up with plans last minute.  We did the exact opposite.  Albert hadn’t been feeling well and was in a bit of a funk while I was exhausted from two straight weeks of events.  I sat around in sweats, trying to figure out something fun to do until we realized that wasn’t necessary.  Once Albert started feeling better, he walked to the grocery store with little direction of what to buy.  When he came back, we had a feast of steak, broccoli, cream spinach, and tomato mozzarella.  After about two glasses of wine I passed out at 9:41 pm.  I think we needed a Saturday like that.
  3. I bought my very first [own] menorah this year and it arrived one day before Chanukah started.  Lighting it is just one step towards establishing my own holiday traditions.  I feel like such a grown up!
